St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, Maryland, a Catholic co-educational school of 500 students in grades 9-12, seeks an Assistant Principal for Students to begin immediately.
Assistant Principal for Students
Must have have a bachelors degree and High School leadership experience- with the desire to complete an Admin I certification through MSDE
The duties of the administrative team member given responsibility for student activities shall include the following:
· Serves as the school’s representative in the absence of the Principal.
· Is responsible for school order.
· Directs the faculty in the handling of students who disrupt school or class order.
· Coordinates daily attendance and disciplinary records for all students.
· Is responsible for the delegation of supervision of student behavior at athletic contests and other student activities.
· Is responsible for the control of locks and lockers for locker assignments.
· Is responsible for faculty and student parking regulations and privileges.
· Assists faculty with regard to discipline matters in conjunction with the Assistant Principal for Academics and the Department Chairs.
· Supervises the Student Activities Program and student activities moderators
· Assists the Assistant Principal for Academics with graduation activities.
· Approves non-academic field trips, coordinates assemblies, speakers and other special programs related to student life.
· Is responsible for the publication and editing of the Student Handbook.
· Oversees periodic fire and emergency drills.
· Acts as a liaison with school uniform company.
· Coordinates detention, lunch supervision, cafeteria clean-up and parking lot schedules.
· Collaborates with Facilities Director on the proper maintenance and upkeep of school facilities and campus areas.
· Is responsible for the implementation of a developed school crises management plan.
· Coordinates security and chaperoning personnel for student dances.
