Brief Description
Senior Therapeutic Activities Assistant develops, implements, coordinates and supervises recreational and related activities for the inpatient residents providing for care, treatment, rehabilitation and socialization and psychological adjustment. Supports Hospital's mission to provide the highest quality care by complying with regulatory guidelines, meeting agency standards, and obtaining appropriate certification.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Formal education required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related medical or educational field or Associates Degree with at least two years’ work experience in recreation, psychology, education or related field. Bi-lingual (Spanish) also preferred.
Previous Experience Required
Two to five years experience working in a pediatric therapeutic program or related field.
Must have experience with data entry for documentation

Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Assists the Lead TAA in the development, coordination and ongoing activities of the Recreation program.
- Holds a caseload and ensures all activity documentation and supporting care plans are completed in a timely fashion
- Prepares the resident’s activities calendar each month.
- Serves as a member of the care plan team, relaying information about the clients’ activities and behavior to the other staff members.
- Participates in the delivery of activities for the participants.
- Investigates client occurrences, notifies the appropriate members of the care team and prepares occurrence reports as necessary.
- May be required to assist with orientation and oversight of volunteers and/or interns
