Under the direction of the Finance Manager, supports organization-wide data management including data mining, reporting, and analysis.
Primary Responsibilities
Strong Data Analytics skills and the ability to support organization-wide data management including data mining, reporting, and analysis. Must a proactive and an independent thinker. Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills as well as strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with management, peers and technical staff.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the production, delivery and maintenance of company data.
- Assist and/or manage and execute various projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Assists with analysis of data, including results that may assist management in identifying trends, red flags, or areas of opportunity.
- In conjunction with the Financial Analyst, acts as secondary analyst and report developer for the credit unions data warehouse environment.
- Analyze and troubleshoot data issues.
- Responsibilities include data analysis, report development and data extracts. Work with business lines to gather and document data requirements and report parameters, determine feasibility, and design, validate and deploy reporting and data solutions within agreed upon time frames.
- Assist with scheduling and monitoring delivery of automated data warehouse report production jobs.
- Contributes to a positive work environment and SMCU image by maintaining courteous, respectful and effective interaction, teamwork and communication with employees and members to enhance positive behaviors and employee satisfaction.

- Provides service to our membership communities by actively volunteering time to local civic and charitable organizations.
- Performs related technical support duties as may be assigned or requested.
Qualifications, Experience, and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of experience as a data analyst, preferably in a financial institution.
- Working knowledge of finance, including but not limited to interpreting financial statements, identifying and assessing quantitative and qualitative trends, marketing metrics, and loan and deposit behaviors
- Computer and Equipment Skills
- Foundational computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
- Use of Outlook email and calendaring.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Crystal Reports, SQL, Python and/or other applications.
- Use of online teleconferencing software (e.g., Zoom or Teams).
