What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admitting Clerk Physical Therapy position at St. Mary's/Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics?
Oversees all matters concerning daily operation of patient registration and scheduling appointments. Performs efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and registration of outpatients. Ensures that accurate and complete patient data is collected and that all managed care requirements are met. Explains Medical Center policies and procedures to patients.
Essential Job Functions:
· Maintains knowledge of all operative software and maintenance routines.
· Schedules clinic, outpatient and/or other appointments.
· Promotes a positive and professional image
· Registers all patients for the clinic, hospital and/or emergency department.
· Ensure patients’ charts are signed by physicians and forwarded to medical records.
· Enter correct billing as given by the rehab providers.
· Assist with insurance, prior authorization and re-authorization for rehab services.
· Order supplies as needed and requested by the rehab providers.
· Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
· Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
· Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Understanding of and ability to use medical terminology and abbreviations.
· Must have good typing and written skills.
· Ability to interact effectively with coworkers, supervisors, management, clients, and others with whom he or she may interact.
Full time, 40 hours per week, 8-4:30
