OVERVIEW:

The Family Partner is responsible for:

  • Providing peer support and advocacy to families engaged in St. Mary’s programs, drawing on lived experience to build trust and empower parents.
  • This role works collaboratively with program staff to ensure families have access to resources, guidance, and emotional support as they navigate housing, parenting, and recovery challenges.

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and may be adjusted as necessary.

FAMILY SUPPORT & ADVOCACY:

  • Provide peer-to-peer support to parents and caregivers, fostering trust and empowerment.
  • Assist families in identifying needs and accessing community resources.
  • Advocate for family voice in program planning and decision-making.

PROGRAM COLLABORATION:

  • Work closely with case managers and clinicians to coordinate family services.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized service plans.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

  • Connect families to external supports such as housing, education, and health services.
  • Represent St. Mary’s Center at community events and outreach activities.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of family interactions and referrals.
  • Assist with program reporting and evaluation as needed.

Open Schedule:

Part-time:

  • Saturday & Sunday 3 pm-11 pm
  • Wednesday-Saturday 11 pm-7 am (OVERNIGHT)

Full-time:

  • Sunday-Thursday 3 pm-11 pm

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Professional/Academic

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in human services preferred.
  • Experience as a parent or caregiver with lived experience navigating social services.

Necessary Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of community resources and family support systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Job requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Regular use of hands for typing and handling documents.
  • Occasional travel to meetings and community events may be required.

Pay: $21.00 per hour
