St. Mary’s Catholic High School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach for the 2026–2027 season.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Head Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the varsity basketball program while fostering an environment that promotes athletic excellence, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship. The coach will provide instruction in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical preparation necessary for student-athletes to maximize their potential and achieve individual and team success.
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to building and sustaining a basketball program that reflects the mission and values of St. Mary’s Catholic High School. The Head Coach will be expected to promote the development of the whole student-athlete by emphasizing excellence in competition while prioritizing faith formation, character development, academic achievement, service, and personal responsibility.
Candidates should possess the leadership ability, coaching experience, and basketball knowledge necessary to evaluate, develop, and mentor student-athletes. Minimum Qualifications (Required Upon Hire)

Completion of Safe Environment Training through the Diocese of Phoenix

Completion of all required NFHS coaching courses

Current CPR and First Aid Certification

Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

Must be a certified teacher or hold current NFHS coaching certification
