What You'll Do
The successful candidate will:
- Teach Upper School Physics using engaging, student-centered instructional practices.
- Design lessons that challenge students while meeting the needs of diverse learners.
- Foster an inquiry-based classroom that encourages problem-solving, scientific reasoning, and independent thinking.
- Integrate technology effectively into daily instruction.
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with students, families, and school administrators.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Science Department and Upper School faculty.
- Serve as a student advisor or moderator for at least one student organization.
- Participate fully in the life of the school, including faculty meetings, professional development, school events, athletic and performing arts activities, and occasional student supervision duties.
Candidates should possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Three or more years of teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of secondary science instruction and effective classroom management.
- Experience with project-based or inquiry-based learning is preferred.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative spirit and a commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that values and respects individuals from diverse backgrounds.
