ST. MARK Catholic School is searching for full-time Instructional Assistant for 1st grade for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Qualified candidates will have an interest in teaching students and a desire to work for a Catholic school.
ST. MARK is a mid-sized Catholic Pre-K through grade 8 school in Vienna, Virginia. We have two classes per grade from Kindergarten through grade 8, with an average of 20 students per class. Our Kindergarten program is staffed by committed teachers who inspire and challenge young learners to grow in every area: spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally, and socially. As an Instructional Assistant, you will be an important part of the ST. MARK team, working closely with the classroom teacher to implement the teacher's instructional plans and to assist with the daily management of students and the classroom.
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Strong proponent of classroom inclusion for all learning abilities
- Comfortable providing in-class support to the teacher and students
- Able to collaborate with general education and special education teachers
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience as an instructional assistant or similar role preferred
- Experience working with children with a wide range of abilities
- A desire to help students grow in faith, knowledge, and service
