Overview
Manage the school library space and supervise students during evening study hall from 7:00–9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, when school is in session. Support the daily operation of the high school library by maintaining and monitoring the space and resources, and by assisting students and faculty with access to library services.

Compensation:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Reports to: Director of the Burgess Center for Teaching & Learning
Responsibilities:
- Actively supervise students in the library during evening study hall
- Assist students and faculty with accessing and using library resources
- Staff the circulation desk and help triage students seeking support from the Technology Department
- Shelve books, journals, electronics, and other materials; perform minor book repairs; and ensure electronics are in working order
- Perform routine book maintenance and processing, including applying barcodes and spine labels, covering books, and updating the library management system catalog
- Help cultivate a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive library environment for students, staff, and faculty
- Perform other duties as assigned by the library team, the Director of the Burgess Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, or other school administrators
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Interest in working with high school students within a diverse school community
- Proficiency with a range of technologies, including PC and Apple platforms, Google Workspace, and other web-based applications
- Positive attitude, strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in customer service or working with teens preferred
Physical Demands for Job-Related Tasks:
- Frequent physical effort is required for such activities as carrying books (20-30 lbs.), bending, stretching, grasping, etc., to retrieve library materials
- Able to view computer screens for extended periods
