POSITION: Stream Operator
Position Summary:
The Part-Time Stream Operator supports the ministry of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church by managing the live streaming, sound, and creation content for our worship services. This individual plays a vital role in extending the congregation’s reach to homebound members, visitors, and the broader community. The Stream Operator ensures a high-quality, distraction-free viewing experience and is committed to the continual improvement and development of the church’s online ministries.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
1. Live Stream Production
- Operate cameras, switchers, audio boards, and streaming software during worship services and special events.
- Start and end streams on YouTube / monitor live broadcasts to ensure high-quality audio and video.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in real time.
2. Audio/Visual Support
- Coordinate with the Director of Music & Communications to ensure appropriate sound setup for the day.
- Make graphics via Canva or other means for TVs, promotional materials, and online stream.
- Adjust lighting and camera angles as needed.
3. Continuous Improvement & Development
- Dedicate time each week to improving the quality, reliability, and effectiveness of the livestream ministry.
- Evaluate audio/video performance and implement enhancements.
- Research updated technology, software, and best practices for church livestreaming.
- Develop strategies to enhance online engagement and accessibility.
4. Technical Setup & Maintenance
- Set up and test equipment prior to services.
- Maintain and safely store all A/V equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
5. Other
- Abide by the policies and procedures of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church as outlined in the Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook.
Prerequisites:
- Experience operating live-streaming or A/V equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with streaming platforms.
- Basic understanding of audio mixing, soundboards, and camera operation.
- Basic understanding of Canva or other graphical software.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Willingness to work Sundays and special liturgical services (Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, Midweek, etc.).

Position Details:
- Type: Part-time / Hourly / Non-exempt
- Expected Time Requirement: Up to 10 hours
Schedule:
- Sunday: 1–3 hours weekly for services
- Additional hours for continuous improvement and development
- Additional worship services (Advent, Lent, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, etc.)
- Additional concerts/events throughout the year
