Job Summary and Qualifications
As a highly-skilled and compassionate EP Nurse you will provide assistance with electrophysiology interventional procedures in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. You will be part of a team that pulls together to provide a quality patient care experience. We are seeking passionate individuals who are ready to take their career to the next level! In this role:
You will assist and educate patients undergoing an electrophysiology study procedure of the heart.
You will be responsible for helping to develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
You will assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including administration of medications, moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, circulating and scrubbing during EP procedures and other procedures scheduled in our invasive procedure labs.
You will maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records. Completes all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepares tests for physician interpretation.
You will be able to demonstrate clinical expertise in working with electrophysiology patients during invasive diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology, and device implantation procedures.
You will collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient as needed.
What qualifications you will need: Current nursing license in good standing
Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred
Two to three years of Cath Lab experience required. All applicants must be proficient in interpreting EKGs, vital signs and hemodynamic monitoring. Experience with stim/pace protocols, Carto mapping, Ensite mapping, and scrubbing EP procedures including pacemakers strongly preferred.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 30 days of employment start date
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) and certification required within 90 days of employment start date
IHBRE preferred
