What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher and Teacher Assistant position at St. Mark's Episcopal School?
The Substitute Teacher position requires the ability to handle varied situations and respond to student needs. We're looking for people who are comfortable filling in at our busy company and have a passion for helping students learn. An ideal candidate is someone who has a Bachelors degree and prior teaching experience with children ages 7–10, but substitute teachers can also be certified with a High School Diploma and prior experience working with children of similar ages. Substitute Teachers are responsible for following the prescribed lesson plans and objectives, as well as responding thoughtfully to any questions or concerns that students or parents may have about the material.
Responsibilities:
- Be caring and compassionate toward children and their caretakers.
- Demonstrate proper infection control measures.
- Adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other governmental regulations.
- Use good judgment when dealing with patients, visitors, families, and co-workers.
- Communicate with customers.
- Deal with difficult customers.
