St. Mark's Episcopal Academy is a private PreK – 6th grade day school located on the Indian River Lagoon in beautiful Cocoa Village, Florida. St. Mark's Episcopal Academy seeks a passionate and collaborative part-time music teacher. The music teacher is charged with leading small classes (8-12 students) in general grade-level music instruction, including singing, playing instruments (ukuleles, guitars, & handbells), and reading music. The music teacher leads music instruction on Wednesdays from 9:30 - 2:30, and collaborates with the school musical theatre staff on Mondays from 9:30 - 2:30. The music teacher will periodically be present for special events and may earn a stipend through after-school enrichment clubs and private music lessons.
Qualifications are as follows:
· Demonstrate proficiency in general music education for students in grades PreK - Grade 6.
· Ability to target instruction to the needs of individual students
· Possess effective classroom management skills
· Possesses strong skills in communication and interaction with parents
· Ability to accompany students on the piano or other instruments (desired)
· Evidence of being a team player with creativity and enthusiasm
· Committed to meaningful and ongoing professional development
· Must hold a Florida Professional Educator's Certificate or be eligible for certification
· Bachelor's Degree (required)
· Minimum two years of classroom teaching experience (desired)
