Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking, assembling meals, and portioning ingredients in line with dietary guidelines.
- Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Support the serving of meals to students and staff, ensuring efficient and friendly customer service.
- Handle manual tasks such as weight handling in the workplace, moving supplies, and managing food inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces throughout shifts.
- Support catering or banquet events by setting up serving stations and assisting with food presentation.
- Operate POS systems for meal transactions when applicable, ensuring accurate processing of payments.
- Adhere to food safety management protocols and assist with routine food handling procedures to meet regulatory standards.
- Assist with dietary accommodations by understanding dietary needs and supporting appropriate food handling practices.
- Support team members in maintaining a safe environment by following proper manual handling techniques and safety procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service setting such as restaurant work, catering, or hospitality is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations is essential.
- Familiarity with POS systems and serving techniques enhances efficiency in meal distribution.
- Experience working in the food industry or as a dietary aide demonstrates commitment to health-conscious practices.
- Barista experience or restaurant experience involving customer interaction is beneficial for delivering excellent service.
