Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Services (EVS) Attendant to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within healthcare facilities or similar settings. Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
• Handle laundry operations efficiently, including sorting, washing, folding, and distributing linens according to hospital protocols.
• Utilize proper chemical handling procedures to ensure safe use of cleaning agents while adhering to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas.
• Follow strict safety protocols during manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or movement of furniture and supplies to prevent injuries.
• Maintain accurate documentation of cleaning activities and supply inventory levels for accountability and quality assurance.
• Support infection prevention efforts by adhering to healthcare-specific sanitation procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
• Respond promptly to special cleaning requests or emergency spill situations with professionalism and efficiency.

Skills

• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to chemical handling, manual handling, and workplace safety practices.
• Proven experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping or custodial roles within hospitals or clinics.
• Strong understanding of environmental services operations including sanitation standards specific to healthcare settings.
• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively while maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Excellent customer service skills with a respectful approach towards patients, staff, and visitors.
• Familiarity with hospital infection prevention protocols and healthcare sanitation best practices.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and manual tasks required for comprehensive cleaning duties.
• Attention to detail in executing cleaning procedures accurately and consistently according to established guidelines.
