St. Luke’s Home is an 88-bed long-term, skilled nursing facility where residents receive 24-hour skilled nursing care; IV therapy; wound care and post-surgical care; respite care; nutritional therapy; and peritoneal dialysis. The geriatric psychiatric unit houses up to 20 residents.

This ad is for a full-time, 32 hours per week, day shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) position with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Encouraging positive social exchange among residents, promotion of residents’ rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
• Providing a supply of clean, disinfected linens, maintaining cleanliness of residents’ clothes, preserving color and fabric, avoiding spread of bacteria.
• Keeping linens and clothing washed, dried, ironed, folded, and stored in designated areas daily, while maintaining clean laundry areas and equipment.

Requirements include:

• Capability to commute reliably to and from workplace in all weather conditions.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with residents and teammates.

Qualifications

Education

Must be at least 16 years of age and able to follow written and verbal direction.

Experience

No experience necessary, but previous experience preferred. Facility will provide training.

Specific Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.

Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously, independently, and have the flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, teammates, and support agencies.

Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
