  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Performs safe and proper installation, maintenance, safety testing and repair with focus on sophisticated and highly technical critical and/or complex clinical and non-clinical equipment typically covering select equipment in laboratory, radiology, respiratory, surgery, cardiac and ICU, etc. Provides technical support to safety committee, in-service training to Hospital staff on use and operation of equipment and trains other bio-med staff on preventive maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Graduate of a Biomedical Electronic Technician program, military Biomedical Technician program or Electronic Tech program.
    • Experience: Over three (3) years related work experience with increasingly complex biomedical equipment. Demonstrated skill in repair of a variety of highly sophisticated critical and/or complex clinical and non-clinical electronic equipment including successful completion of related vendor service schools.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Advances electronics; anatomy and medical terminology; basic PC programming ability; advanced troubleshooting and problem analysis; ability to use personal computer; knowledge of appropriate codes and regulations; blueprint and schematic drawing reading; hand tool operation; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to use sophisticated test equipment. Ability to regularly travel to and from various duty locations in a safe and timely manner.

      READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
    • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
