The Centers of Excellence (COE) Program Coordinator supports the operational coordination and program development of Oncology Centers of Excellence, serving as the execution partner to disease site physician, administrative leadership, and clinical staff. The role ensures structured multidisciplinary collaboration, advancement of program initiatives, and continuous progress across the cancer care continuum-from prevention and screening through treatment, survivorship, and surveillance.

The COE Program Coordinator is a highly organized, methodical, and systems-oriented professional who combines attention to detail with the ability to think holistically about patient care pathways and program development.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The COE Program Coordinator supports the operational coordination and execution of Oncology Centers of Excellence, partnering closely with the Director of Oncology Excellence and Accreditation, as well as physician, administrative, and clinical leaders, to advance program initiatives in support of the strategic plan of a growing Cancer Center. This role facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration, tracks progress on defined priorities and ensures alignment across the cancer care continuum. Activities are coordinated in support of Cancer Center leadership to promote consistency, accountability, and sustainable program advancement.

  • Coordinate assigned Oncology Centers of Excellence by organizing meetings, maintaining program structure and cadence, and ensuring consistent progress across disease site initiatives.

  • Track key initiatives, action items, and milestones; facilitate follow-through and accountability across multidisciplinary stakeholders.

  • Support disease site teams in advancing workflow improvements, care pathway optimization, and patient-centered program initiatives across the cancer continuum.

  • Serve as a central point of coordination between physicians, nursing, navigation, operations, access, and executive leadership to advance COE priorities.

  • Maintain organized documentation, trackers, and summaries to provide visibility into program progress, risks, and opportunities.

  • Assist with coordination and implementation of identified opportunities to improve care delivery, operational efficiency, and patient experience.

  • Prepare agendas, summaries, and leadership updates to support effective decision-making and alignment across disease site teams.

  • Other related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be capable of sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time, walking on all surfaces for up to 5 hours total and climbing stairs, standing for up to 4 hours per day, one hour at a time. Must be capable of driving a car. Occasionally requires lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasionally requires reaching above shoulder level, handling and twisting. Applicant must be able to touch as it relates to palpation or soft tissue, hear as it relates to normal conservation, and see as it relates to general vision and peripheral vision.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required. Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, social work, or a related healthcare field preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years of experience in oncology and/or the broader healthcare setting required. Project management experience preferred. Clinical or oncology-specific knowledge, as well as experience with quality initiatives and accreditation standards, is a plus.
