Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love of education. We are specifically looking for a part time person who is excited about teaching either a 3rd grade class or a 4th grade class. This teacher would teach half a day, Monday through Fridays, either in the morning or the afternoon. Another part time teacher would cover the other half of each school day.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education.
- Utilize diverse teaching methods and learning technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies to create a safe, inclusive environment.
- Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing, to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Provide individualized support and tutoring for students needing extra help, including those with special education needs or on the autism spectrum.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support early intervention efforts and develop personalized learning plans.
- Incorporate library services and literacy education techniques to promote reading skills and foster a culture of curiosity.
- Engage in curriculum development initiatives to enhance educational programs and integrate innovative learning technology tools.
- Mentor new teachers or student teachers, sharing best practices in classroom management, lesson planning, and childhood development.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents in compliance with education administration standards.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in elementary or early childhood education is idea; private school experience is preferred, but not necessary.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs, including special education students or those requiring early intervention services.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Knowledge of learning technology tools and library services that enhance student engagement and literacy skills.
Pay: $17,000.00 - $21,000.00 per year
