POSITION OVERVIEW: The Program Attendant provides essential on-site support for daily operations. Responsibilities include compiling attendance reports, providing customers with relevant information, handling admissions and performing light custodial duties. The position requires the ability to manage daily opening and closing procedures, fee collection and the capacity to maintain a clean and safe space. This role requires flexible hours that may include weekends, afternoons, evenings and/or holidays depending upon the assignment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Operations and Administration:
  • Process transactions via a Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain attendance records and/or inventory and complete accurate, detailed daily reports.
  • Prepare parks and program spaces for daily opening and closing operations.
Customer Service and Support:
  • Provide general information to visitors and callers, responding to inquiries about programs and services.
  • Assist with special events on-site, ensuring smooth operation and customer satisfaction.
Facility Maintenance and Cleanliness:
  • Perform light custodial duties, including cleaning restrooms and maintaining general cleanliness of facilities.
  • Identify maintenance issues and create work orders for necessary repairs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires good vision and hearing, with or without correction, and the ability to speak and write clearly. This role may require the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.  Employees can expect regular standing and walking, with tasks that may include climbing, bending, and squatting. The Program Attendant position involves moderate physical effort, including operating equipment or performing manual tasks. The employee in this role must have the ability to perform work in varying environments which may require outdoor activities.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND WORK HAZARDS: 
Work may be conducted in a climate-controlled setting or an outdoor location exposed to varying weather conditions and extreme temperatures, depending upon assignment. This role may involve exposure to chemicals typically used when performing custodial tasks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.

During these types of events, County employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location, and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.

Candidates should possess a solid foundational background that demonstrates their ability to engage with the responsibilities of the role effectively.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience working with the general public is preferred.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and process financial transactions.
  • Knowledge of general cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance tasks.
  • Effective oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and staff through excellent customer service.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and a good driving record.
Pay Grade G01

PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING: This position requires a physical, drug testing, driver's license verification and level 1 background screening.

Salary : $15 - $23
