Commercial Tire Outside Sales Professional

Summary of position: 

The Commercial Tire Outside Sales Professional is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships while generating sales growth within assigned commercial accounts and territories. This position serves as the primary point of contact for fleet and commercial customers by identifying tire and service needs, presenting solutions, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing commercial customers.


• Generate sales through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and customer visits.


• Identify customer tire, service, and fleet maintenance needs and recommend appropriate solutions.


• Prepare quotes, proposals, and pricing for customers in a timely manner.


• Coordinate with service, warehouse, and management teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products and services.


• Monitor customer accounts and maintain accurate sales records and documentation.


• Resolve customer concerns and service issues promptly and professionally.


• Conduct regular follow-up visits and communications to maintain strong customer relationships.


• Maintain knowledge of tire products, industry trends, pricing, and competitor activity.


• Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance expectations.


• Promote company programs, products, and services to maximize customer retention and growth.


• Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and company events as required.


• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.


• Perform customer Fleet inspections as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required. 

• 2 years of outside sales experience, preferred.


• Commercial tire and/or automotive industry experience, preferred.


• Proven demonstration of strong sales and customer service skills.


• Knowledge of commercial tire products, fleet operations, and preventative maintenance programs is a plus.


• Knowledgeable in computer applications and sales-related software.


• US work authorization.

Required Licenses or Certifications: Driver's License, unrestricted

Work Environment/Expectations:

• Work within both in-office environments and at customer locations.


• Frequent travel within assigned sales territory is expected.


• Exposure to repair shop environments such as grease, vehicle exhaust and chemicals may occur.


• Background noise from vehicles, tools, and shop equipment is expected during customer visits.


• Maintain regular, punctual attendance.


• Must wear company branded work attire when required.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent driving and travel is expected.


• Bending, sitting, standing and walking is expected.


• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time when visiting customer locations.


• Regular use of computer keyboard, tablet and telephone.


• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.


• Must be able to walk, talk, listen and speak clearly.


• Use of fine motor skills is expected.
