St. Louis Catholic School in Alexandria, VA is looking to hire a qualified Literature Teacher for our Middle School students in grades 6-8 for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualified candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree (education degree or related subject area preferred), and possess or be working towards VCEA or Commonwealth of Virginia teaching certification. This position requires the candidate to teach Literature, which is a core curriculum area, and supervise a homeroom of students in grade 8. Candidates must demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, develop engaging, differentiated lessons with written plans, direct students in hands-on activities, and provide feedback through timely grading of submitted work and trimester report cards.
St. Louis is located in Alexandria, VA near Mt. Vernon and Ft. Belvoir. It is a Christ-centered school community rooted in the teaching traditions of our Catholic faith.
