It sits at the corner of Shenandoah, Kingshighway, and Vandeventer and serves Shaw, The Hill, and Southwest Garden neighborhoods. The branch is known for its large curved window that covers its southwest face which allows ample natural light and contemplative views for customers. A distinctive circular ceiling creates an open and airy interior that feels both intimate and spacious. It features a single large auditorium for Library programs and community use and a variety of seating for both students and families alike.
It’s located just north of Tower Grove Park, west of Missouri Botanical Gardens, and across the street from Brightside STL’s Demonstration Garden. The branch is surrounded by lush landscaping and features SLPL’s Yarn Library which is popular with local fiber artists. The branch is a destination for the neighborhood’s young families, students, and residents whose families have lived in the area for generations.
