LDA is a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on empowering students with learning disabilities. We provide personalized tutoring, school consultation, and professional development workshops for teachers and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Our mission is to ensure that all students, regardless of their learning challenges, have the tools, strategies, and support to succeed academically and socially.
Position Overview:
We are seeking compassionate, experienced Learning Disabilities Specialists to join our dynamic team. As a specialist, you will play a pivotal role in helping students develop personalized learning strategies, fostering a growth mindset, and working closely with parents, teachers, and school administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized tutoring and intervention for students with learning disabilities, tailoring strategies to their unique needs.
- Consult with schools and collaborate with educators to develop effective learning strategies and accommodations for students.
- Lead and present professional development workshops for teachers and parents on best practices for supporting students with learning disabilities.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and teachers, offering guidance and support for creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Track student progress and provide regular updates to parents and school staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in working with students with learning disabilities (dyslexia, ADHD, processing disorders, etc.)
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), 504 plans, and other educational support systems.
- Ability to connect with and build rapport with students, parents, and educators.
- A passion for helping students realize their full potential and develop lifelong learning strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in tutoring, educational coaching, or school consultation is preferred.
- Relevant degree or certification in special education, psychology, or related fields.
