Employees in this class are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility, juveniles and staff and counseling residents by modeling and teaching social skills, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution. Duties include providing direct care and supervising residents in a 24-hour 7 day a week (including holidays) facility; performing security checks and managing crises and conflicts as they occur; documentation of daily activities; medication delivery; providing transportation; and assisting residents develop life skills. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Twenty-one (21) years of age or older OR between eighteen (18) years of age and twenty-one (21) years of age AND enrolled or completed course work in a postsecondary education program to pursue a degree in a behavioral science, according to Minnesota Statute 2960.0240.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- One (1) year full-time paid verifiable experience in a correctional facility, group home, behavioral health program, hospital security, treatment program, shelter, or a related field.
