The Information Services Department is seeking a full-time Justice Service Specialist to assist individuals impacted by the criminal justice system by connecting them to community services, resources, and outreach; while offering a supportive environment for providing both social and informational guidance.
The mission of the St. Louis County Library is to provide the resources and services to enrich individual minds, enhance lives and expand perspectives. SLCL is an award winning library system with branches throughout St. Louis County. We have transformed into a meaningful community resource with updated facilities and an array of programs and partnerships that serve over 860,000 patrons.
Salary: $49,338
Hours:
Monday-Friday, Tuesday evenings
40 hours/week
Essential Responsibilities
1. Supports Justice Services with the Tap In Center to serve individuals impacted by the criminal justice system.
2. Promotes access and the use of Library resources in correctional facilities.
3. Organizes and participates in special projects, outreach and programming to enhance the quality of service to the community.
4. Educates customers on library use to enable customers to become confident Library users.
5. Responds to all questions to meet customer and staff needs.
6. Works cooperatively with Information Services Department staff and others to ensure quality information service.

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in case management, social services, or crisis intervention is preferred.
- An understanding of the criminal justice system and local community resources is essential.
- Experience navigating judicial portals, including Missouri CaseNet.
- Must possess a commitment to a high level of public service.
- Must possess excellent communication and organization skills and ability to work well with others.
- Must possess good judgment and analytical and problem solving skills.
