What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Marketing & Communications position at St. Louis Community College?
The Coordinator, Marketing & Communications is responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of marketing and internal and external communications projects. The Coordinator, Marketing & Communications will report to the director, strategic communications and will identify and write news content and maintain the hub and campus news pages of the College intranet and College newsletter. Other duties include writing collateral, creating presentations, presentations, and light graphic design using products such as Canva.
*This position is pending final approval by the Board of Trustees and is anticipated to begin on July 1, 2026, at the start of fiscal year 2027. Accordingly, selected candidates will not begin employment prior to July 1, 2026.

- Create marketing and communications materials to support internal and external communications and marketing to create an exceptional employee and student experience.
- Identify and create internal and external news and feature stories, blog posts and press releases about students, faculty, staff, and events.
- Curates and updates intranet news hub and campus pages with relevant content that aligns with strategic priorities and creates an exceptional employee experience.
- Serve as a member of district crisis communications teams.
- Create content for flyers, brochures, and other collateral to support marketing and communication efforts.
- Work with districtwide marketing and communications team and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or related field.
- Two (2) years of progressive responsibility in marketing, communications or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience executing integrated marketing and communications plans.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Knowledge and experience supporting brands and visual identities.
- Experience working in higher education, nonprofit or mission-driven organizations preferred.
- Office environment
- Hours of work may exceed 8 hours/day based on project demands or College events and may occasionally include evening or weekend events.
- Local travel between campuses as required.
