St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking

An experienced and compassionate Manager of Pediatric Psychology to lead our pediatric behavioral health services. In this role, you will guide a team of skilled psychologists and behavioral health professionals in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape integrated care models within a nationally recognized children’s hospital while driving program growth, clinical excellence, and team development.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of pediatric psychologists. pediatric neuropsychologists, and behavioral health clinicians, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Oversee daily operations of pediatric psychology services across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Partner with medical and hospital leadership to deliver integrated, patient-centered care
  • Expand and enhance programs supporting patients with chronic illness, developmental conditions, and behavioral health needs
  • Drive quality and performance outcomes, including patient access, experience, and clinical effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and documentation standards
  • Champion a collaborative culture focused on compassion, inclusion, and continuous improvement

Role Purpose

Performs psychological evaluations, assessments, psychotherapy and consultation during the course of treatment for patients and their families. Responsible for program development, management and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Provides psychology clinical services to patients and their families. Manages operations of the department, and integrates services within the work unit and with other departments.
  • Acts as a resource and liaison to hospital staff and outside community.
  • Develops and coordinates psychology training program.
  • Initiates independent and collaborative research initiatives, and disseminates research findings through publications and presentations.

Education

  • Doctorate
  • Psychology

  • 2-5 years
