What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Community Hockey position at St. Louis Blues?
Job Duties
- Contribute to the development and execution of a strategic plan for all Girls Development Program initiatives and events with the purpose of engaging current stakeholders and growing the Blues Youth Hockey brand in different markets and demographics.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple youth and community hockey programs. This includes registration, communication, planning, execution, staffing, and more.
- Girls Development Learn to Play Program
- North City Blues program
- First Game Program
- All programs and events created with the goal of growing girls hockey in St. Louis (i.e. Ice Breaker Invitational)
- Ensure details on youth hockey programming is clearly and concisely communicated with stakeholders, both internal and external
- Assist Sr. Manager, Youth Hockey & Fan Development Strategy with setting up and facilitating all in-game experiences
- Assist with recruitment and hiring process for all Blues Youth Hockey program coaches, ensuring all certifications and background checks are completed prior to start date.
- Work with Sr. Coordinator, Youth Hockey Development on execution of the following programs and events: Learn to Play equipment fittings, Blues Youth Hockey graduations, Blue Note Cup, and Blues Youth Hockey webpage updates
- Assist Sr. Manager, Mascot with the CELLY Assembly program
- Be available for up to 75% of Blues home games.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in sport management, business, marketing, public/community relations, or related field
- Experience: 0-1 Year
- Significant on-ice hockey experience required, either as a player or coach
- Experience working with children and youth athletes, particularly in hockey
- Familiarity with all Microsoft Office elements (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Enthusiastic, passionate, and knowledgeable about the St. Louis Blues, hockey, and sports in general
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proactive mentality and able to multi-task
- Self-motivated and able to learn quickly
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
