Externship FAQ's
As a Nurse Student Extern, you'll be responsible for providing technical assistance under the direction of a registered nurse to achieve quality patient outcomes. If selected, you'll serve in our Inpatient Units, Outpatient Clinics, or Surgical Services department.

Externship FAQ's

The duration of the Fall Nurse Externship is variable and based upon the completion of nursing school
To maintain the integrity of our program, all nurse externs must start on the same date
To qualify, you must have:
Completed basic medical/surgical nursing in an accredited school of nursing
Be within 12 months of graduation by August 2023
Strong candidates will also have completed:
A pediatric nursing course
BLS training
Have a 3.2 GPA or higher
Minimum Education
Qualified candidates must have:
- Completed basic medical/surgical nursing in an accredited school of nursing
- Be within 12 months of graduation
We prefer candidates who:
- Have completed a pediatric nursing course
- Have a 3.2 GPA or higher
