Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary role and the majority of the shift for this position is to transport patients via wheel chair gurney and/or bed between hospital departments. This is a physical job requiring the ability to push pull and assist in the transporting and/or lifting of patients on a daily basis. This position will be responsible for effectively communicating with Clinical staff to evaluate document and verbally report patient status and condition as well as completing 'S-Bar Ticket to Ride' documentation. Additional duties include but are not limited to clerical functions requiring basic computer skills as needed. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- One or more of the following: One year experience in an inpatient electrocardiology department as a Transporter or Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Completion of a Certified EMT program or Medical Assistant Course Ability and desire to work in a physical role transporting patients between hospital departments on a consistent basis
- The ability to perform the outlined physical abilities. The ability to effectively communicate with Clinical staff complete reports and documents regarding patient care and condition Demonstrated competency in patient care for the pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients
- Basic computer skills Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Requires excellent communication skills and a customer service attitude. Must speak English and have legible handwriting.
Salary : $29 - $32
