St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus, regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.
The Medical Center offers a full complement of specialty and subspecialty services including ambulatory, behavioral health, cardiovascular, emergency/trauma, internal medicine, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic/spine, rehabilitation, surgical specialty, women’s health, imaging and pediatrics.
The nursing team at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, which includes St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, has held the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence, the profession’s highest honor, since 1999. - Leads and directs multiple small, medium, and large-sized enterprise projects simultaneously. Oversees all aspects of projects, including project intake, visioning, planning, scope, schedule, cost, risk, monitoring, quality, procurement, resource, communication, and stakeholder management activities. Delivers projects in a demanding healthcare environment and works with administrative, clinical, technical, vendors, and external partners in the development and completion of project charters and statements of scope, financial estimates, timelines, action plans and task lists, resource plans, and work estimates.
- Interacts with staff, management, executives, and vendor team members to continually communicate details regarding project status, issues, risks, milestones, and timelines. Manages diverse and geographically dispersed project teams throughout the project lifecycle to plan and execute projects. Serves as the point of contact for key internal and external project stakeholders. Ensures project team and vendor activities comply with organizational, industry, and regulatory policies, procedures, and requirements. Helps develop best practices and implement standards for a continuously evolving ePMO. Able to work with minimal supervision. Works remotely or onsite as business and project needs require.
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree or a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with a combination of education and professional project management work experience.
- At least six (6) years of project management experience.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service, communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and intermediate or advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a preferred (required if no bachelor’s degree).
- Healthcare industry knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Experience with information technology (IT), medical device and equipment implementation and upgrade projects is a plus.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from Scrum Alliance is a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Workfront or similar project portfolio management (PPM) tools, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and/or Microsoft Visio is a plus.
