What You’ll Do
Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of allergy department including, but not limited to, inventory/supplies, operations and patient care.
Qualifications:
· Requires a high school education
· Requires RN or LPN
· Prefer 5 years of experience in medical office procedures and policies desired
Skills:
· Working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 coding
· Working knowledge of third party payers operating procedures and practices
· Working knowledge of computer operations
· Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local legal, compliance & regulatory provision related to billing practices in a medical office
· Ability to key 60 wpm and accurate 10 key skills
· Superior communication skills both oral and written
· Ability to interact appropriately with clientele, patients, superiors and fellow employees
· Demonstrates a high level of motivation and initiative to accomplish goals
· Strong organization skills, as well as the ability to prioritize
· Demonstrated emotional stability, ability to function appropriately and effectively in dealing with critical, and unexpected or stressful situations

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Allergy Nurse
o Allergy testing
o Allergy serum
o Allergy shots
o Inventory and order Allergy supplies and anaphylaxis kits
o Pulmonary Function Tests
o Document all work performed, as well as patient interactions (i.e. telephone calls), in patient EHR chart
o Maintain accurate and current allergy procedures and protocols
o Train MAs and other staff on allergy procedures and protocols
o Make recommendations to leadership on program improvements
o General Responsibilities
o Maintains the highest level of customer service
o Follows all the guidelines of the HIPAA plan of the company
o Maintains the strictest confidentiality of patient & company information
o Attend training classes, as requested
o Maintains orderly files and work space
o Handles any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
· Environment / Working Conditions
Position is in a well-lighted office environment.
The position requires use of a computer, keyboard and normal office equipment (e.g., fax machine, photocopier, etc).
This job is a fast-paced and frequently stressful; the position requires a person who can handle a stressful working environment and can handle a work environment that focuses on performance and productivity.
Work in cubicles that are in relative close proximity, and employees must be able to concentrate with a moderate amount of distraction and noise.

Regularly required to sit for extend periods of time; stand; walk; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Manual dexterity using computer keyboard/calculator.
May occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
