Unit Manager – Full Time (Second Shift: 3pm–11pm)

Do you want to lead a team and make a real difference every day? St. Joseph’s Center, a caring nonprofit organization, is looking for a full-time Unit Manager for our residential program. This role is based at our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) on the Main Campus in Scranton, PA. As a Unit Manager, you will guide a team of Direct Support Professionals and make sure residents receive safe, respectful, and person-centered care.

What You'll Do:

  • Supervise and support direct care staff in your assigned area.
  • Train staff on care plans, goals, and daily routines.
  • Make sure residents’ Individual Plans are followed.
  • Help with personal care needs when needed (feeding, changing, positioning).
  • Keep the unit safe and organized; report any issues to leadership.
  • Hold staff meetings and share updates from administration.
  • Work with the team to solve problems and improve care.
  • Report medical concerns to nursing staff quickly.
  • Assist with hiring and training new staff.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.

What's Required of You:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • 1 year as a DSP, CNA, or similar role.
  • Valid PA driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 10–50 lbs. and assist with transfers.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
