St. Joseph's Center is looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team! The Maintenance Worker will play an important role in keeping our facilities safe and well-maintained to support our residents and staff. This position offers an opportunity to make a difference by supporting an organization dedicated to serving others.
This position is full time 1st shift position. Occasionally employee may be asked to cover a 2nd, 3rd, or weekend shift. The position involves maintenance of buildings, grounds, and company vehicles as directed by a maintenance supervisor

What You'll Do
- Complete maintenance and repair jobs as directed by the supervisor.
- Perform general duties around the buildings and grounds, including routine upkeep and preventative maintenance.
- Inspect and maintain equipment such as electrical systems, alarms, and machinery to keep the facility safe and up to code.
- Use tools, vehicles, and other equipment safely and keep them in good condition.
- Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies and assist other departments when needed.
- Help with seasonal groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, snow removal, or leaf cleanup.
- Report any needed repairs or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Help ensure the buildings and grounds are secure and monitored as assigned.
- Attend training sessions and in-service programs when required.
- Assist with special projects such as plumbing, carpentry, or electrical work.
If Assigned to Cover Security
- Make rounds during evening or night shifts to check doors, windows, and lights for safety.
- Operate and maintain boilers and power generators.
- Monitor areas where oxygen tanks are stored and follow safety procedures during emergencies.
- Perform cleaning, trash removal, and delivery tasks as needed.

What’s Required of You
- Basic skills in building and grounds maintenance.
- General knowledge of heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and alarm systems.
- Ability to safely use maintenance tools, vehicles, and machinery.
- Able to read and follow directions and safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in maintenance or related work preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
- Ability to stand 7 or more hours per day.
- Ability to sit or walk 1–3 hours per day.
- Occasionally lift or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
- Frequent twisting, bending, squatting, or kneeling.
