- Position Summary
- Performs clinical duties in keeping with established policies and procedures which include basic patient care, performing routine office procedures, assisting the physician during clinic, working up patients, and obtaining and recording accurate medical history. This position is responsible for being the care coordinator for patients between the hospital and the outpatient office. Performs clerical duties which may consist of, but are not limited to, checking patients in and out, scheduling testing, scheduling surgery, obtaining prior authorizations, coordinating patient care with dialysis center/hospital, scheduling incoming referrals, prescription refill coordination, and fax in box monitoring.

- Core Job Functions
- Follow policies and procedures for routine office procedures, assisting the physician and reviews tests with the physician and contacts the patient with the results and instructions. Recognizes and anticipates urgent and emergent patient situations and responds appropriately.
- Vital signs must be taken on each patient, on each visit and input into eClinical Works. Verifies and updates patients clinical record on each visit.
- Identifies patient education needs and may assist in patient teaching as to appropriate health maintenance and management of illness. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
- Answers phones. Processes incoming and outgoing documents. Collects payments.
- Schedules all surgeries and tests. Orders medical supplies when needed. Coordinates physician's schedule and credentialing.
- Performs eligibility. Accurately inputs patient demographic and insurance information. Schedules appointments accordingly.
- Performs clerical and clinical duties as assigned.
Salary : $52,600 - $66,600
