Role Overview

As the Guest Services Intern, you will be at the forefront of creating memorable experiences for our fans, playing a crucial role in ensuring every visitor has an enjoyable and positive interaction at our ballpark. The Mustangs have consistently ranked in the Top 15 Nationally for attendance for the past 10 years, continuing that tradition in 2025 with an average of 2,800 guests per game. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop skills in customer relations, event operations, and problem-solving within a dynamic collegiate summer league baseball environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting fans warmly and assisting with inquiries to enhance their ballpark experience.
- Act as a versatile team member, supporting various game-day operations including, but not limited to, ticket scanning, ushering, directing guests, and assisting with premium areas.
- Assist with managing and servicing large groups, special events, and promotional activities.
- Actively engage with fans to gather feedback and measure satisfaction, contributing to continuous improvement of guest services.
- Proactively identify and resolve fan concerns or issues efficiently and courteously.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, such as Box Office, Concessions, and Promotions, to ensure seamless overall game day execution.
- Maintain a positive, welcoming, and professional demeanor while representing the St. Joseph Mustangs organization.
- Be flexible and adaptable to be placed in different guest-facing positions as needed on a nightly basis to support operational demands.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited College or University, with the ability to receive academic credit for the internship.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced service industry environment.
- Enthusiasm for the sports industry and a passion for creating positive fan experiences.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.
Schedule & Commitment
This internship runs from approximately May 15th to August 1st. Candidates must be available for all St. Joseph Mustangs home games and associated events during this period, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
