Shifts Available: Nights
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
Location: St. Joseph Medical Center- Kansas City, MO

As a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) , you'll provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients with acute mental health needs in a dynamic inpatient behavioral health setting . Working alongside Registered Nurses and an interdisciplinary care team, you'll play a key role in promoting patient safety, stabilization, and recovery.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting
- Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks
- Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects
- Assist with crisis intervention and de‑escalation to promote unit safety
- Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers . You must have:
- A current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- A current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
- IV certification within 90 days of hire
