What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/LPN Full-time or Contract position at St. Joseph Manor Health & Rehabilitation?
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team on a full-time with benefits or an 8-week renewable contract basis. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, cool-tempered, and will have experience in providing diverse basic care to those who need it. You will work under the supervision of an RN or Doctor. Our goal is to promote patient wellness by providing the highest quality of nursing care in the area. Responsibilities:
- Record patients’ medical history accurately
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
- Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions
- Direct staff as necessary
Skills
- Proven experience as LPN or RN
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work with a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
- BLS certification preferred
- A true passion for caring for the elderly
