St. Joseph Hospice is seeking an experienced PRN Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice healthcare team in the Shreveport, LA area.

Essential daily duties include:
- Provide primary medical care and palliative care for chronic and acute illnesses to patients who are home-bound or have difficulty traveling to a physicians office
- Provide physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases
- Interpret laboratory and test results
- Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies all with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention
Qualifications:
- Current LA license required
- Two or more years as a Nurse Practitioner
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations
- Hospice or Palliative care experience preferred
- Experience in EMR preferred
