Role Description The Facility Maintenance role is a full-time, on-site position located in St. Joseph County, IN, responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of fairgrounds buildings and grounds. This role involves performing routine inspections, addressing maintenance requests, and carrying out repairs to ensure facilities remain safe, clean, and operational. Daily tasks include basic plumbing and carpentry work, building maintenance, preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, and coordinating with supervisors on larger projects or vendor services. The role also includes setting up and tearing down facilities for events, maintaining walkways and common areas, and complying with safety standards and regulations. The individual in this position collaborates with other staff, responds promptly to facility issues, and keeps accurate records of maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Facility Management (FM), including coordinating maintenance activities, managing work orders, and supporting safe facility operations.
- Candidates should possess skills in Preventive Maintenance, such as performing scheduled inspections, servicing equipment, and identifying issues before they become major repairs.
- Candidates should possess skills in Building Maintenance, including basic repair of structures, fixtures, and interior/exterior components.
- Candidates should possess skills in Plumbing, including minor repairs, leak detection, and maintenance of water and drainage systems.
