What do we need?

As a St. Joe's Data and Reporting Specialist (CQI), you will be responsible for the collection, aggregation, analysis, and dissemination of relevant data for all departments to enhance the agency’s comprehensive continuous quality improvement efforts. The Data and Reporting Specialist (CQI) provides administrative oversight, support, and maintenance for the agency's electronic health record software, focusing on improving the efficiency of the EHR for program staff, compliance with quality, regulatory and billing requirements, and data collection for external and internal partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a Super User, facilitating the continuous development and maintenance of the EHR software in use, which includes identifying and addressing data quality issues within the system.
  • Proficiently utilizes the EHR system to collect, analyze and interpret datasets to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain reports that clearly communicate key performance indicators and trends to program leadership.
  • Conduct thorough data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
  • Collaborate closely with program leadership to identify reporting needs and enhance reporting process.
  • Create and automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data processes and methodologies.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve data collection, reporting, and analysis workflows.
  • Design and implement efficient SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets across various data sources.
  • Stay current with industry trends and tools, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance agency data capabilities.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on reporting tools and methodologies.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with the agency's electronic health records contractor for addressing any technical issues and resolving task tickets.
  • Participate in committees or work groups focused on quality improvement or data analysis.
  • Support ad-hoc analytical requests from stakeholders, preparing reports and presentations as needed.
  • Engage with stakeholders to guarantee that reports and data are both relevant and beneficial.
  • Design and produce data visualizations, including tables, charts, graphs, and flow diagrams.
  • Support the agency in preparing for site visits conducted by funding, licensing, monitoring, or accrediting entities.
  • Assist with new service documentation development in agency EHR system.
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines, all while maintaining outstanding quality standards.
  • Responsible for obtaining required staff development/training hours as set forth by St. Joseph Children’s Home Policy and Procedures, COA, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Must implement and use the tools acquired during education sessions.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field or substantial experience in electronic health records and data management principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data sets.
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting required.
  • Familiarity with Excel, including advanced functions and pivoted tables.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong data visualization skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
