Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, social studies, and other core subjects.
• Utilize innovative learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparations.
• Provide individualized support and tutoring to students who need extra help, including those with special education needs or autism spectrum disorder.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support early childhood development and early intervention initiatives.
• Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as Montessori or other educational philosophies to meet varied learning styles.
• Engage in curriculum development activities to continuously improve instructional materials and classroom activities.
• Mentor new teachers or student teachers, sharing best practices in classroom management and lesson planning.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents for education administration purposes.

Skills

• Proven classroom experience with elementary students, particularly in 5th grade settings.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Expertise in literacy education, math instruction, and the use of learning technology tools.
• Knowledge of special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with children with autism or other developmental needs.
• Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate writing skills, library services integration, and standardized testing preparation.
• Experience in tutoring or private school environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with early childhood education principles and childhood development theories.
• Skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading of educational materials, and classroom management strategies.
• Competence in education administration tasks such as record keeping and compliance documentation.
