Position Overview
St. Joseph Catholic School seeks a Kindergarten Aide who is nurturing, organized, and committed to supporting young learners in a Christ-centered environment. The Kindergarten Aide plays an important role in helping create a joyful, structured, and engaging classroom where students develop foundational academic, social, and faith-based skills.
The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, collaborative, and enjoys working with young children while supporting the classroom teacher in daily instruction and classroom management.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support
- Assist the Kindergarten teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities
- Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills
- Assist with transitions, routines, and classroom organization
- Help supervise students during recess, lunch, and other school activities
Classroom & Instructional Support
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources
- Assist with hands-on learning activities and centers
- Help maintain a structured, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Support classroom management and student engagement
Organization & Communication
- Assist with grading, filing, and record keeping as needed
- Support classroom organization and preparation for lessons
- Communicate effectively with the lead teacher and school staff
- Assist with communication materials for families as directed by the teacher
Faith & Community Formation
- Model Christian values and positive behavior for students
- Support classroom prayer and faith formation activities
- Help foster a caring, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment
- Participate in school Masses, prayer services, and community events
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred
- High school diploma required; college coursework in education preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Patient, nurturing, and positive demeanor
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
