Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Aide to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all linens, towels, and garments are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will contribute significantly to the overall experience for our long term care residents. The shift for this position is 6:00 am - 2:00 pm and does require availability every other weekend.
Responsibilities
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment efficiently and safely.
- Launder and dry clean linens, towels, clothing, and other items as required.
- Sort, fold, and organize clean laundry items for easy distribution.
- Inspect items for stains or damages before processing and report any issues to management.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area by regularly cleaning machines and workspaces.
- Ensure proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents according to safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to meet laundry demands promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or dry cleaning environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with laundering techniques and equipment operation is a plus.
- Attention to detail with a strong focus on cleanliness and quality control.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends or holidays if necessary.
