We are seeking a caring, patient, and dependable Preschool Paraprofessional to provide individualized support to a young child with disabilities in a preschool classroom. The paraprofessional will work closely with classroom teachers and other members of the support team to help the child participate successfully in classroom activities, routines, and social experiences.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, understands the importance of individualized support, and can provide consistent encouragement while helping the child develop independence and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with preschool teachers to support the child’s participation in classroom activities, lessons, play, and daily routines.
  • Provide individualized assistance and redirection as needed while encouraging age-appropriate independence.
  • Support the child with transitions, following classroom expectations, attention, communication, and social interactions.
  • Help implement strategies and recommendations provided by teachers and the child’s educational or therapeutic team.
  • Provide positive reinforcement and use calm, consistent approaches to support emotional and behavioral regulation.
  • Assist the child in engaging appropriately with peers and participating in group activities.
  • Observe and communicate relevant information about the child’s progress, needs, and challenges with classroom staff.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
  • Respect the child’s individual strengths, needs, and learning style.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged or young children required.
  • Experience working with children with autism, ADHD, developmental differences, or other special needs preferred.
  • Experience in occupational therapy (OT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education, or a related setting preferred.
  • Patient, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and flexible in a busy preschool environment.
  • Willingness to learn and implement individualized strategies and recommendations.

Salary : $20 - $25
