St Johns Powersports is seeking a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our Operations Team as a Unit Assembly Technician/Lot Attendant. This combined role is essential to our dealership's success, covering the assembly and preparation of new powersports units, while also managing the organization and appearance of our showroom and lot. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience in safe forklift operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Unit Assembly and Preparation (Unit Builder):
- Uncrate, assemble, and perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on a variety of new powersports units, including motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs (such as those from CFMOTO, Polaris, Can-Am, Sea-doo and Suzuki), PWCs, and trailers.123
- Install factory and aftermarket accessories as directed by the Service Department.
- Lot and Inventory Management (Lot Tech):
- Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the showroom, display areas, and exterior sales lot.1
- Stage and arrange powersports inventory for maximum visual appeal and sales effectiveness.
- Ensure all units are accounted for, properly tagged, and ready for customer viewing.
- Unit Movement and Logistics:
- Safely load and unload crated and uncrated units from transport trucks.
- Operate a forklift to efficiently and safely move units around the lot and warehouse, ensuring no damage occurs during transport.
- Shuttle units between different areas of the dealership as needed for Service, Sales, and F&I.1
- General Duties:
- Assist the Service and Sales teams with various tasks to maintain efficient workflow.
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance duties around the shop and facility.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience and proficiency in operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to use hand and power tools for unit assembly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a powersports, automotive, or marine dealership.
- Familiarity with various powersports vehicles (motorcycles, side-by-sides, ATVs).
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
