What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Automotive Tech Teacher position at St. Johns High School?
This part-time Automotive Tech I, II, and III teaching position is for the 2026-27 school year or sooner, based on applicant's needs. Depending on the applicant's certifications and work experience, is it possible this could be a full-time teaching opportunity, to include other high school courses.
Qualifications:
- College Degree, must provide Transcripts or Professional Work Experience equivalent
- Valid and Current Arizona Teaching Certificate for Automotive Tech
- Able to obtain or possess an Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Reports to: Principal and CTE Director
Job and Performance Responsibilities:
- Planning and Preparation: The teacher consistently plans instruction/activities using the state standards, effective strategies, resource, and data to meet the needs of all students.
- Learning Environment: The teacher uses resources, routines and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered learning environment.
- Instructional Skills: The teacher uses effective instructional delivery strategies and engages students in higher-order thinking skills.
- Professionalism: The teacher maintains a commitment to professional ethics, communicates effectively, demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content and the developmental needs of students, and takes responsibility for and participates in professional growth that results in enhanced student learning.
- Other duties: The teacher performs other duties as assigned by the principal and superintendent.
Evaluation: The teacher is evaluated by the building principal as outlined in state law and board policy.
Salary : $42,000 - $53,000
