What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Teller II / Main position at St. Johns Bank?
Basic Responsibilities:
- Process customer transactions to include deposits, loan payments, checking/savings withdrawals, and cashing checks in either the bank lobby or drive-thru windows
- Maintain an adequate cash drawer at all times, to include buying and selling currency to/from the branch vault as needed
- Perform regulatory functions for those transactions which require them, such as Reg CC and BSA forms
- Responsible for accurate daily balancing of a cash drawer
- Sell Cashier Checks, Money Orders, and Official Bank Checks
- Redeem Savings Bonds and process Cash Advances
- Assist customers in accessing safety deposit boxes
- Provide customer service that builds customer relationships, cross-sell bank products/services, and assist customers with problem resolution
- Perform Personal Banking duties as needed
- Perform supervisory duties to include, but not limited to, teller overrides, balancing of the branch vault, and branch opening/closing functions
- Comply with all departmental and company policies, procedures and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months prior teller experience, or similar experience in positions requiring heavy cash handling and balancing
- Previous Personal Banking experience, or the ability to cross-train as a Personal Banker within 6 months of hire
- Detail-oriented, high degree of accuracy required
- Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, and use of tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers or employees
- Ability to make sound decisions
- Ability to communicate with customers in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- Good computer skills, to include MS Office Products
- Extensive customer contact requiring proven skills in building relationships which will enhance the overall marketing effort of the Bank
