Custodian

Work Hours/Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday / 4:00 - 9:00 PM. This is a year-round position.

General Duties:

• Ensure the facility is open and available based on the daily schedule
• Perform nightly job duties in the parish and school facilities, including cleaning floors, bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
• Respond to immediate needs based on specific situations that arise or result from events taking place at the facility.
• Assist in grounds maintenance as needed.
• Ensure facility is locked and secure at the end of the night shift
• Maintains a neat and orderly custodial supplies room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
• Brings any safety hazards, or items in need of repair to the attention of the facility manager.
• Other seasonal or specific projects as needed.

Required Skill/Abilities:

• Promote a pleasant and cordial environment by being helpful and responsive to parishioners, students, staff, and guests.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Work independently.
• Report promptly for scheduled shift.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass a background check.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including English.
• Ability to perform physical tasks which include, lifting 50 lbs., standing, walking, kneeling, bending and using a ladder. Pre-employment physical will be required.
